Boehner Statement on Ranking Member Position on House Natural Resources Committee


Washington, Dec 10, 2008 - House Republican Leader John Boehner (R-OH) issued the following statement on the decision by Rep. Don Young (R-AK) to step down as Ranking Republican Member on the House Natural Resources Committee:


“Today Congressman Don Young asked that he be relieved of his duties as ranking member on the House Natural Resources Committee so that he can focus on resolving questions he is facing.  The Steering Committee granted his request.

 

“I commend Don Young for putting the interests of the Republican Conference, the House, and the American people first by making this decision.  In the interests of Don, his family, and his constituents, it is my hope that this matter will be resolved as soon as possible.”
