John Carter (R-TX)
Jean Schmidt (R-OH)
John Shadegg (R-AZ)
Duncan Hunter (R-CA)
Todd Platts (R-PA)
Marilyn Musgrave (R-CO)
Jim McCrery (R-LA)
Mac Thornberry (R-TX)
Mike Pence (R-IN)
Tim Walberg (R-MI)
Cliff Stearns (R-FL)

Rep. Scott Garrett (R-NJ) wants to hear about the sacrifices you and your family are making because of Speaker Pelosi’s inaction on gas prices.  Email him at painatthepump@mail.house.gov.

On the House floor in our nation’s capital to town hall and rotary club meetings in communities throughout the country, Republicans will continue holding the Democratic Majority accountable for their refusal to listen to the American people struggling with high gas prices.  How much longer will Speaker Pelosi and congressional Democrats ignore American families’ and small businesses’ calls for “all of the above” before she stops blocking a real vote on more American energy?

    My email to Mr Garrett:

    Mr Garrett,

I’ve been keeping up on Mr Boehner’s blog, and saw his note that you wanted to know about the sacrifices of those in America, who are putting up with these insane gas prices.

Here are a few from me:

    1. No out-of-state trips or vacations.
    2. Buying cheaper foods so I’m able to put enough gas in the car to get to and from work, as well as the grocery store.

Oh and…my tires are well inflated. Then again, tires are made (partially) of oil, so, we’re back at square one! :-)

Please keep up the fight! You and your friends in the house (and hopefully senate) are providing the leadership the conservative base has been crying out for! Please keep this up! Do not give in!

    God bless you!
    (end quote)

  3. Jennifer Says:

Just sent my Representative a note to Get Back To Work! Please provide us with an updated list frequently of those that decide to show up.

  4. Elizabeth Garcia Says:

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Finally we are seeing some backbone from our Republican members of Congress. I feel proud to call myself a Republican again. I hope this is not the only issue that you take a stand on. Conservatism works every time it is tried. Please, Please, Please continue to make all our voices heard on this important issue and continue to stand up for the things that matter!!!!! I am behind you 100%.

  5. Jack Chaille Says:

Nice work. We are so pround of you for holding out for your convictions. Now, if we could just get the President to call a special session insisting on a vote, you all would have Nancy by the “Yang Yang” and she would have to relent. HANG IN THERE!!!!

  6. Rita Cipollo Says:

Great job. Keep up the work. It is sad that ALL the officials that have been elected do not speak for those who elected them.

  7. Jonathan Duhon Says:

Is my representitive there with you on this historic occasion. He is Charles W. Boustany, Jr., M.D.

  8. Chris Lanagan Says:

Keep up the good work, Republicans! It’s appalling that Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats have left for a 5 week vacation while our nation is in the middle of an energy crisis. What a disgrace! The will of the people is not being represented and Americans WILL NOT STAND FOR IT. That’s what separates our nation from countless others and the Democrats are going to learn that lesson (again) the hard way.

Please urge your Representative to get back to Washington and address this issue NOW. This is a tremendous opportunity for Republicans to show some leadership.

  9. Diane in California Says:

That “pain” email address doesn’t seem to be valid. Post it again?

  10. JALINA STUTTE Says:

I WOULD LIKE MS. PELOSI TO KNOW THAT I AM A 54 YR OLD SINGLE PARENT THAT HAS HAD TO MOVE MY BUSINESS HOME BECAUSE I COULDNT AFFORD THE GAS TO GO TO WORK AND BECAUSE OF THIS MOVE HAVE LOST HALF OF MY INCOME! I LIVE ON PEANUT BUTTER SANDWICHES CAUSE I CANT AFFORD THE FOOD PRICES! I HAVENT SEEN MY SON AND GRANDCHILDREN IN 4 YRS BECAUSE FIRST HURRICANE RITA THEN THE GAS PRICES TO TRAVEL TO FLA. WOULD CAUSE MORE OF A HARDSHIP. MY DAUGHTER HAS DROPPED OUT OF COLLEGE BECAUSE I CAN NO LONGER AFFORD IT BECAUSE OF RISING TUTION AND SINCE SHE IS WHITE AFFIRMITIVE ACTION HAS SHOT US IN THE FOOT FOR HER TO BE ABLE TO FOLLOW THE AMERICAN DREAM! WHERE WILL IT STOP? PELOSI CAN AFFORD FOOD, EDUCATION, AND VACATIONS BUT NOT THE AVERAGE AMERICAN FAMILY…IS THIS FAIR? CONGRESS GIVES THEMSELF A RAISE AND RECENTLY PASSED A RETIREMENT PACKAGE FOR THEMSELVES BUT I WHO CARRIES A LARGE LUMP IN MY BREAST CANNOT AFFORD A DOCTOR. I WONT BE ABLE TO RETIRE UNTIL IM AT LEAST 88 YRS OLD! I’M NOT THE ONLY ONE THERE ARE MILLIONS LIKE ME WHO WANT TO KNOW WHY? PELOSI DRILL NOW AND SAVE OUR COUNTRY. BEFORE ITS TOO LATE. I ALSO SUGGEST THAT MR. T. BOONE PICKENS PLAN ON WIND ENTERGY BE SERIOUSLY LOOKED AT, I HAVE, AND IT MAKES SENSE TO MAKE OUR COUNTRY STRONG AND SELF SUFFICENT…BUT MAYBE THATS NOT WHAT PELOSI AND HER PALS ARE WANTING! GOD SAVE US AND GOD BLESS AMERICA!

  13. David Downs Says:

Why do we not have one single politician in New Jersey that is for Drill Here Now? Please talk to those individuals and please ask them to change their mind. I have called and emailed them adn not one has responded or changed their position.

  14. The Realist Says:

    Let my people vote!
    From everywhere the people cry
    Let my people vote!
    Hang tough, Congress,
Stay up there and make our stand.
    Tell old Pharaoh,
    Let my people vote!

No more will we import our oil
    Let my people vote!
We’ve got enough here on our soil
    Let my people vote!
    Hang tough, Congress,
Stay up there and make our stand.
    Tell old Pharaoh,
    Let my people vote!

Each time we’re robbed at the tank
    Let my people vote!
We have Ms Pelosi to thank
    Let my people vote!
    Hang tough, Congress,
Stay up there and make our stand.
    Tell old Pharaoh,
    Let my people vote!

    For heaven’s sake, Ms Pelosi
    Let my people vote!
Won’t you let our bill go free
    Let my people vote!
    Hang tough, Congress,
Stay up there and make our stand.
    Tell old Pharaoh,
    Let my people vote!

  15. Lloyd Rowe Says:

Can you put up the list of all the Republicans who are involved? I don’t want to “beat mine up” if he’s already there. Others may be in the same boat….
The following list is from the blog but I don’t think it’s inclusive of everyone.

Members who have spoken on the floor of the House so far today:

    Ron Lewis (R-KY)
    Jeb Hensarling (R-TX)
    Kay Granger (R-TX)
    Louie Gohmert (R-TX)
    John Carter (R-TX)
    Jean Schmidt (R-OH)
    John Shadegg (R-AZ)
    Duncan Hunter (R-CA)
    Todd Platts (R-PA)
    Marilyn Musgrave (R-CO)
    Jim McCrery (R-LA)
    Mac Thornberry (R-TX)
    Mike Pence (R-IN)
    Tim Walberg (R-MI)
    Cliff Stearns (R-FL)

    Thanks.

  16. John Kurywchak Says:

President Bush started the decline in oil prices on July 14, 2008, when he rescinded the executive order banning offshore oil drilling. Now these representatives are helping to continue the decline. Keep it going! So far only the intention to drill has lowered the price. Once Congress opens up the Outer Continental shelf to drilling, oil prices WILL plummet to the $65-$75 range.

Cautionary note: we must not forget the lesson of the last twelve months.

  17. MS Says:

Jalina, Please use low caps in your note.

If only you were an illegal alien, you would be much better off. Pelosi, Obama, Reid, Kennedy would all be ready to help you get settled, get free health care, exemption from taxes, and looking out for your overall well being. In exchange, you would give them your vote.

But you are probably just an ordinary American citizen, that’s the problem.

  18. Bruce Belles Says:

Thanks for being LEADERS!! This country needs leaders, the others will follow, we are behind you 100% I wish I could buy a 1 min add on every network at 9pm every night and let America see what your doing!, Thanks so much, you GREAT AMERICANS!!, Bruce from New Hampshire

  19. Ron Norman Says:

I am very proud of you. Just found your web site and will check in daily for any update. I didn’t expect to see my Representatives name here as she is a Democrat from the 12th District and brand new to the House of Representatives taking Tom Lantos old position after his death. Jackie Spier would have been brave indeed to buck Ms. Pelosi so quickly but she did get together with Rep. Flake from Arizona to call for an end to ear marks so there was an outside chance she might have her name on the list of those that put their country before vacation. Keep it up, your all just great.

  20. david roberts Says:

There was a time when people allowed themselves to be steam rolled and waited to long to do something. They were crippled by there shear inactivity. Those where the German people back in the 30’s.

Thank you for awakening and bringing passion back to the peoples house. WE NEED YOU TO FIGHT! MY FAMILY NEEDS YOU TOO FIGHT.

MY HEART IS FULL OF PRIDE WHEN I SEE YOU STANDING FOR THE PEOPLE!
